Four Ponies Enterprises - About Us

 

We became involved with the US Capital Christmas Tree 2007 this year.

The tree was cut in Summerset, not far from where we live in Vermont.

Here I am with "Smoky" on the day of Cutting Ceremony in the Green Mountain National Forest.

This is actually the fifth time that Vermont has provided a tree to Washington, DC.

 

Our state is continuing the tradition we began in 1967, 1980, 1982, 1994 and now 2007. Our tree is a balsam fir.

This next photo shows a huge pile of green burlap (100 yds) on my sewing machine.

We were busy sewing the protective wrap for the tree that was needed while it was being transported to the Capital.

 

The last photo, shows the completed project on my lawn before we rolled it up. The person holding the burlap is Jenny Kimberley, she vounteered the both of us!

It took two people just to deal with untangling and sewing.

It was a great experience!
